Patricia Bragg

Most people these days are simply ‘walking piles of sewer sludge’.

This is the war cry sounded by health pioneer Patricia Bragg, daughter of the famous Dr. Paul C. Bragg, the man who introduced Health Food Stores to America, turned a wimpish 14 year old Jack LaLanne into a juiceman superman, and lived in perfect health as a life extension specialist for nearly a century.

The Bragg Healthy Lifestyle motto is offically:

You are what you “eat, drink, breathe, think, say and do”.

The food of choice consumed by intelligent people these days leaves them so oversaturated with harmful toxins and poisons that the body cannot keep itself clean. True, we are living longer lives, but they are lives of needless suffering – surviving day-to-day inside of a rusted, run-down machine that has not received proper maintenance.

We take for granted that by age fifty we will have aches and joint pains, deteriorating eyesight, give up jogging, and settle into a half-vegetative state of complacency. But this woman (see photo), Patricia Bragg, a leading health advocate – is a living example of contradiction (as was her father.. sadly, he was labeled by some as a ‘freak’ at age 80 because he had the energy and physique of a 35 year old).

Patricia tells us through experience and thousands of case studies, that what we have settled for is not the way it was meant to be! In other words, we have been too long out of touch with Nature’s purpose and reality. We have been substituting unnatural chemicals instead of using the natural, raw, whole foods provided by the one who created us.

The Bragg Family has been promoting a healthy, sensible lifestyle since 1912, and tirelessly continues the crusade even today. Patricia Bragg is a living example of how life ought to be enjoyed, and has devoted her life to sharing the ‘secret’ with others. She will claim that it is indeed not a secret at all, but plain old-fashioned common sense.

I was so happy to find my old favorites from the Bragg Product Line stocked at the supermarkets in Singapore; the Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother), and my all-purpose seasoning and salt-substitute, Liquid Aminos.

I mustn’t forget the books, too! I own several Bragg titles, co-written by Patricia and her father Paul C. Bragg, and have recycled them intensely – browsing for recipes, sensible advice and recommendations for common health problems, and most importantly of all, inspiration!

The mind is the weakest link in the body. I’ll say it again – the MIND is the weakest link in the body. When I’m overweight, I blame my mind. When I get sick, I think what did I crave so much that poisoned my body to bring on illness.

The beauty of the Bragg Formula for a Healthy Lifestyle goes beyond mere stating of the facts. Patricia and her father know that many people start in with good intentions but are unable to stick with it for very long. Eating unnatural, over-processed food is an unhealthy habit that needs to be broken in order to enjoy the benefits of a natural life.

Now take a look at the photo again. How old do you think Patricia Bragg is? Well, actually, she won’t tell, but I think it’s more fun not knowing. After all, women are allowed to keep just one secret, aren’t they – and she’s already shared her best one with us!

There’s plenty of good advice from Patricia on Bragg’s Blog. Check it out!
